Block filters. - A joint is made between the inner wall of a filter candle A, a cap B, into which the candle is cemented, and the flanged end of a delivery pipe C by means of a yielding packing- ring D, which is compressed and forced against the three surfaces by a nut G screwed on the pipe C outside the containing vessel F. As shown, a second elastic ring E is inserted between the cap B and the container F. Specification 149,808 is referred to.
