Abstract

149,808. Ransford, R. B., (Davis, L. C.). June 4, 1919. Block filters.-In a filter of the candle type a joint is made between the delivery pipe and the interior only of the candle, the arrangement being such that any water leaking around the exterior of the candle flows awav and cannot enter the pipe. As shown, a joint is made between a filter candle 2 and its delivery pipe 3 by means of a rubber ring 6 located between a flange 4 on the pipe and a washer 7, which forces the ring against the inner wall of the candle. The candle is cemented to a. cored metal plug 5, which is forced by screws 12 against a coned orifice in the filter receptacle.
