Impeller blades.-A fan blower has double curved vanes, some of which extend into the central portion of the rotor while the remainder are shorter and take the air after it has been propelled by the inner part of the longer vanes. The disc 6 and the split hub parts 7 are riveted together and secured to the shaft 4. The vanes 9, formed of two parts of the same shape and size, are secured to the disc by angle bars 10. The vanes extend beyond the circumference of the disc and are tapered outwards and inwards from an intermediate point in the length. Shroud plates 19 are secured to the outer portions of the vanes. Vanes 12, shaped similarly to the vanes 9, are placed between the vanes 9 but do not extend into the central part of the rotor. The vanes may be split centrally and attached to serrated discs. In a modification, a third set of vanes 13, Fig. 7, is employed, and these vanes are shorter than those in the second set 12.
