Abstract

161,231. Mountain, M. B., and Roneo, Ltd. Dec. 4, 1919. Window blinds.-Sun and weather blinds operable from inside the building comprise movable supporting-arms carrying a transom, to which one end of the blind fabric is attached. The arms travel within guides or are carried by swinging-brackets and their inward and outward movement may be effected by rack and pinion gear, screw gear, or endless ropes or chains. As shown in Fig. 1, the arms 2 travel in guides 4 carrying guiderollers 5, and are fitted with racks 6 engaging pinions 7 carried by a shaft 8 mounted in brackets 9. The blind 10 is wound upon the spring roller 11 mounted in the brackets 9. The movements of the racks 6 are effected by gearing from the shaft 20. In the modification shown in Fig. 3, the arms 2 are carried by swinging brackets 21 furnished with guide-rollers 24 on the arms 2 are secured to the fixed brackets 9.
