Abstract

378,336. Antidazzle screens for vehicles; window blinds. TYLER, S. H., 80, Nansen Road, Sparkhill, Birmingham. Feb. 11, 1932, No. 4056. Addition to 321,561, [Class 103 (ii), Rail and road vehicles, Details applicable &c. to]. [Class 103 (ii).] An antidazzle screen as claimed in the parent Specification is constructed from a flexible sheet 1 of non-inflammable, transparent, coloured material which incorporates a mixture of wood cellulose and cotton cellulose, preferably in equal proportions, rolled out to a thin sheet. In order to ensure that the screen clears the window or windscreen fittings it is arranged to unwind from the roller 2 on the side remote from the wiidow &c. The roller spindle 3 is supported by a pair of depending L-shaped brackets 6, which at their lower ends are provided with recesses 8 adapted freely to receive the upper ends of the guide-rods 9 for the screen. At their lower ends the rods 9 are fitted with adjustable brackets 10, whereby the rods can be secured to any suitable supporting surface. A stiffening bar 13, preferably formed of two semi-cylindrical portions, is attached to the free edge of the screen 1, and is provided at its ends with eyes 15 engaging the rods 9 and at its centre with a handle 14 for facilitating manipulation. The antidazzle screen may be associated with the windscreen or side or rear windows of vehicles, with windows for air or water craft, or with the windows of buildings.
