Abstract
160,819. Ges. f³r Drahtlose Telegraphie. March 31, 1920, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Act]. Thermionic oscillation generators.-It is stated that, when the grid and anode circuits of an oscillating valve are so coupled as to be generating a maximum output of energy, the plate voltage may be varied over wide limits without affecting the wave-length emitted to a greater extent than two per cent. This effect is utilized by applying to the anode of the valve an alternating voltage, of a frequency above audibility, say 5000 per second. Only the positive half-cycles are operative, and these produce variations in the emitted wavelengths which combine to give rise to a beat note in the receiving telephone.
