Abstract

158,594. Ocansey, A. J. Sept. 5, 1919. Hair-cutting appliances of safety-razor type, comprising a blade and a comb having two portions with differently spaced teeth. The comb parts 2, 3 are attached to a head 7, one end of which is formed as the handle 6. The bladeholder 10 is pivoted in a carrier 4 slidably and adjustably mounted in grooves 13 in the edges 1 of the comb, and has a part 16 engaging a spring 17 fixed in the carrier; the spring holds the blade 5 on to either part of the comb or turned outwards for cleaning purposes. In a modification, the two parts of the comb are placed back to back and a blade is carried on each outer face in a holder having a screwed stem located in a recess in the comb and adjustably secured by nuts. A flanged head extending from the handle secures the parts together. Springs may be arranged on the screwed stems between the adjusting-nuts and the head.
