Cornish or like boiler to form a small flue passage through which the gases pass in close contact with the bottom of the boiler shell, the main outlet from the flue being closed by the damper F. A damper E controls the flow of the gases through the small flue passage. Inclined blocks may direct the gases from the side flues into the main flue or chimney.
