Abstract

158,245. Koppensteiner, K. Dec. 31, 1919, [Convention date]. Bell-signalling systems.-House bells or the like are arranged to be operated by power derived from the ordinary direct-current lighting circuit, by interposing a storage cell or battery 8, the electrodes 2, 3 of which are connected through the lamp &c. 1 to the lighting leads, and, in parallel therewith, to the circuit of the house bell &c. 4. The battery charges when the lamp &c. 1 is switched on, and serves to actuate the bell &c. 4 when the switch 5 is closed. To prevent the lamp circuit from being broken should the level of the liquid in the battery fall so low as to disconnect the electrodes, a floating contact 7 is arranged to connect with the electrode 2, either directly or through a contact 10, when the liquid falls below the predetermined limit.
