Abstract
157,857. Deutrich, J. Aug. 5, 1918, [Convention date]. Liquid fuel, supplying.-The fuel level in an open container c supplying the nozzle d is maintained at about the level of the nozzle orifice by means of a tube e the open end of which is sealed when the fuel reaches the desired level, the flow of air to a container a supplying the container c being thus interrupted. The end of the tube e may be bevelled. The container a is supplied from a float-chamber h through a pipe i fitted with a non-return valve p, the fuel being lifted from a supply tank to the chamber h through a pipe g by suction transmitted from the induction pipe through a pipe l controlled by a valve m. The rise of the float closes the valve m and opens a valve o leading to a pipe k opening into the con. tainer a; the pressures in the upper parts of the chamber h and container a are thus equalized, and fuel flows into the container a until the end of the pipe k is sealed. According to the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a), the tube e may have a series of holes which are gradually sealed by the rising liquid; and the fuel may be lifted from the supply tank by pressure. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
