Abstract

157,000. Dixon, L. T. Feb. 16, 1920. Holders.-A double-capped lamp B, Fig. 1, is mounted in apertures in contact plates D having extensions L pivotally attached to opposite ends of a transverse arm M pivoted at its centre O, as shown in plan in Fig. 2. Each plate D may be guided by two pins G mounted in bushings in an insulating plate C, or by a single pin of flat or square cross-section. The arm M and one of the extensions L may be connected by a spring P, or springs K may be arranged on one or more of the pins. The fitting shown has a cylindrical casing A with a lateral aperture and is adapted to be attached to the roof of a motor vehicle. The arm M should be of insulating material or should have insulated attachments to the extensions L; it may be circular. The invention may be applied to a focusing lamp arranged on a flat base or to a double-capped spherical lamp.
