Abstract

155,674. Petigor, W. H. Oct. 10, 1919. Mountings; singleacting piston pumps; suction reservoirs.-A pump for milk &c. comprises a barrel 9 supported from the cover 5 of the liquid-container by means of a rod 6 and the delivery pipe 7. A stirring-device 32 is slidably mounted on the piston rod 18 and is reciprocated between the barrel and cover by means of a rod 38 passing through the cover. The piston-rod passes through the cover and a sleeve 21 adapted to slide in a sleeve 22 carried by the cover. The sleeve 21 is held against a nut 26 on the rod by a spring enclosed in the two sleeves. The piston is depressed by a lever pivoted to the piston-rod and to a swinging link on the cover. The barrel 9 is closed at the bottom by a removable plate 11 carrying the suction valve.
