Abstract

154,829. Flood, T. M., and Treadaway, H. C. March 11, 1920. Bush-extracting tools.-Means for extracting an old bush from a bearing and inserting a new one, by which the new bush is caused to force out the old one and take its place, comprises a squarethreaded screw a with an hexagonal head b flanged at b<1> at one end, a nut c flanged at c<1>, and a sleeve g having a bore slightly larger than the external diameter of the bush. The new bush d is placed on the screw a against the head b, b<1>, and the bearing e, with the old bush f is placed against it. The sleeve g is placed against the bearing e; when the nut is screwed up, the bush d forces the old bush f out into the sleeve g.
