Abstract

154,784. British Thomson - Houston Co., (General Electric Co.). Nov. 13, 1919. Rotors; casings.-The rotor 11 is secured to the shaft 9 by means of a cylindrical member 13. The cylindrical member may pass through the bore of the rotor and be secured to it as shown, or it may be secured on the other side of the rotor or on the surface of the bore. The member 13 is shrunk on to the shaft and secured from rotational movement by pins 21 which may be held in place by a ring 22 shrunk on to. the member 13. Packing-rings 39 are formed either on the member 13 or the ring 22, and co-act with a resilient cylinder 41 secured at 42 to the stator 10. The cylinder 41, alternatively, may be mounted in a circular slot in the rotor with freedom to expand but caused to rotate with the rotor.
