Universal couplings.-In universal shaft couplings of the kind in which pins rigidly secured to a disk on one shaft loosely engage resiliently bushed apertures in a disk on the coupled shaft, the driving-forces are distributed over a greater area of such bushes by surrounding the pins 4 with loosely-fitting non-resilient sleeves 7. The bushes 6 and sleeves 7 may be kept in place by plates 8. The driving-face of the pins 4 or either face or both faces of the sleeves or of the bushes may be slightly convex.
