Cup-leather packing. -Leather, celluloid, or other cup-leathers for hydraulic machines or presses, steering - cylinders, air-pumps, &c. are formed with ribs and grooves on their rubbing surfaces. Fig. 1 shows a stuffing-box cupleather, and Fig. 5 shows a cup-leather for an hydraulic press.
