153,959. Taussig, L. Aug. 15, 1919. Frame components, applying and combining; tubular and like constructions; wheel forks; axles. -A motor-vehicle frame is built up of sections secured together so as to be dismountable without the use of tools for transportation &c., the wheels. engine, &c. being dismountable or foldable to facilitate a close assemblage of the dismounted parts. The front of the main frame 15 is secured to the front axle 55 by means of forked ends 70 and pins 71. The rear driving-wheel axle-frame 24 is secured to the wheel-fork 16 or the main frame by pins 25. The stub-axles of the front steering-wheels 58 are operated by worm gearing 52 on a shaft 51 rotated bv the usual hand-wheel 63. The engine 40 has a squared driving-shaft engaging a squared recess in a. shaft 65 carrying an internally toothed gear 66 gearing with. a pinion on a shaft 35 connected by gearing to the driving-wheel 22. The front ends of the main frame may be connected to a channel-shaped cross-member 76, Fig. 4, which is secured to the axle and which carries brackets 77 supporting the steering-shaft 51.
