Abstract

1536142 Burners NU-WAY HEATING PLANTS Ltd 12 March 1976 [14 May 1975 14 June 1975] 20334/75 and 25493/75 Heading F4T A burner for liquid fuel comprises an air conduit 10, a liquid fuel nozzle 15 in the conduit, an annular baffle 16 coaxial with the nozzle and defining an annular air passage with the conduit, the baffle being axially movable relative to the conduit and engageable with the conduit to shut-off the annular passage. The conduit may have a frusto-conical portion 12 which has line contact with a frusto-conical portion 20 of baffle 16 whose included angle is greater than that of portion 12. The frusto-conical portions may be replaced by part-spherical portions. Air flows through louvres 19 in the baffle, in a helical path so as to keep the surfaces free of carbon deposits.
