Abstract

1534681 Producing superheated steam from liquid sodium coolant BABCOCK & WILCOX Ltd 10 Dec 1975 [13 Sept 1974] 40003/74 Heading F4A Superheated steam is produced by heating water in a heat exchanger 4 enclosed in a container 1 which also houses a separate heat exchanger 3 through with liquid sodium flows, heat transfer between the heat exchangers 3, 4 being achieved by circulation of a fluid within the container 1. The vapour from the heat exchanger 4 passes to a heat exchanger 11 in direct contact with a heat exchanger 12 through which liquid sodium flows.
