Abstract

1,138,448. Tubular heat exchange element; boilers. FIVES-PENHOET. 25 Oct., 1966 [29 Oct., 1965], No. 47840/66. Headings F4A and F4S] A tubular heat transfer element for use in a forcedflow steam generator and having preheater, vaporizer and superheater sections E, V and S respectively comprises a core member 4 disposed coaxially within an outer tube 1 to define therebetween an annular space 5 through which liquid to be heated, e.g. water, is circulated. Water enters the tubular element at 3a and leaves at 3b as superheated steam. The core member 4 comprises three tubes 6, 7, 8 which are welded together at their flattened end portions (see Fig. 2). The first and third core tubes 6, 8 have external helical Fins 10, 12 respectively extending into the annular space 5. Resilient spacer elements 14 may be postioned between the tubes 1 and 7. Communication orifices 9, 11a, 11b, 13 connect the core interior with the annulr space 5.
