Abstract
980,412. Heat exchanger tubes. HEAD WRIGHTSON & CO. Ltd. July 23, 1962 [July 24, 1961; July 25, 1961], Nos. 26802/61 and 26973/61. Heading F4S. A tubular heat-exchange element comprises a tube 1 formed on its inner surface with a series of circumferentially spaced splines or ribs 6 in which is arranged on or more helical guide plates 4 to restrict the flow path therethrough. As shown, the guide plates 4, together with a central support member 3, form a central core 2 which can be inserted into tube 1.
