Abstract

1359665 Gas heaters; heat exchangers H VIESSMANN 11 Oct 1971 [9 Feb 1971] 47268/71 Headings F4A and F4S A heat exchanger comprises a combustion chamber 6 in heat exchange relationship with a liquid or gas to be heated which is passed within a housing defined by arcuate shell portions 1, 2; shell portion 1 being secured to shell portion 2 which itself is secured to the combustion chamber by flanges 4, the flanges having holes 5 to allow the passage of the liquid or gas being heated. More than two shell portions may be used (Fig. 3, not shown) and further heat exchange surfaces are provided by heating gas return ducts 13 communicating, by means not shown, with the combustion chamber.
