Abstract

1532918 Electric couplings AMP Inc 4 Oct 1977 [15 Oct 1976 26 Oct, 1976] 41084/77 Heading H2E A connector for mounting D.I.P.s on a substrate (e.g. on a P.C.B.) includes an insulating housing 1 with a plurality of socket contacts 2 in individual holes 3 in the housing 1, each contact 2 having a port portion 4 struck therefrom to leave a slot 17, the slot being engaged by a rib within the respective hole and the port extending from the housing. A neck (14, Fig. 2, not shown) at the exit of the port from the housing, and spacers (15) on the bottom of the housing, prevent wicking of solder (104) from P.C.B. aperture (102).
