Abstract

1531475 Burette control valve M A FILL 29 Oct 1975 [19 April 1975] 16265/75 Heading B1X [Also in Division F2] A flow rate-setting device for an adjustable-flow stop cock comprises a support 11 secured to a valve member (3) Fig. 7 (not shown) and having an extension 17 carrying an adjustable stop 20. The stop 20 is rotatable about its own axis and can be releasably locked against such rotation and carries stop surfaces 29, 30 on a blade 23 which abut against the valve body on rotation of the valve member. The stop surface 29 lies on the axis of rotation of the stop 20 whereas the stop surface 30 is offset from this axis such that changing the rotational position of the stop, relative to the support, changes the flow rate at one flow position of the valve and leaves the flow rate at the other flow position unchanged. The device may be provided with a scale 22 and index for setting the position of the stop and the stop is releasably locked by means of a screwed cap 24 and friction washer 26. The support 11 may be a knob having a recess to receive the T-head of the tap plug of a burette and is held in position by a washer (14) and screws (16).
