Abstract

The single-lever water mixing valve, for use in showers etc., has a lever working in a ball-socket, tilting and also turning about its lengthwise axis to control proportions and/or total quantity. A control boss engages with a disc sliding against a control plate with passages for hot and cold water. The boss(5) tilts only in one plane, and the intermediate piece (17) via which it engages with the sliding disc (30) slides freely parallel to the latter in a guide in the housing. The boss has a square section, and a guide cam (7) at its free end, the square section working in a rectangular slot of the same width in the intermediate piece.
