Abstract

1526404 Bushes for bungholes GRUNDY (TEDDINGTON) Ltd 1 June 1976 [2 June 1975] 23788/75 Heading B8T Metal insert 14 has a flange 16 with a tapered lip 17, and the outer surface of the insert is coated with an electrically insulating film 18 Ring 11 is secured to the bunghole of metal cask 10, insert 14 is forced into the ring, lip 17 is spun into groove 13 to secure the insert and a closure fitting may then be screwed into the insert. Further grooves 12 across groove 13 secure the insert against rotation. In a preferred embodiment, the top wall of the cask is radiussed and the bottom of the insert is turned in without the stepped portion shown in Fig. 2.
