Abstract

1524256 Motor compressors; silencing gaseous flow DANFOSS AS 29 Oct 1975 [30 Oct 1974] 44663/75 Headings F1B and FIN [Also in Divisions B1 and F4] A motor compressor unit for use in a refrigerant circuit comprises a casing 4 containing a motor compressor 5 and a gas discharge or suction sound absorbing chamber 21 filled with a drying agent 26. Screens 24 and 25 located near the inlet and outlet ends respectively of the chamber 21 are provided for retaining the drying agent 26. The drying agent may be molecular sieve material in particulate form or a formed filter as described in Specification 1432383. The heat of compression is transferred from the compression cylinder 14 to the chamber 21 through a heat conducting member 27.
