Abstract

1358324 Centrifugal blowers GENERAL ELECTRIC CO 22 Feb 1972 [25 Feb 1971] 8093/72 Heading F1C [Also in Divisions F2 and G1] In apparatus comprising a variable flow restriction, e.g. a gas-sampling particulate absorbing filter 10, and a vacuum pump 11, the inlet line 14 to the pump includes a valve 16 controlled in accordance with the pressure differential across aVenturi or orifice 17 and thereby with the flow-rate in the pump discharge line 15. Thus the flow-rate through the apparatus is maintained substantially constant. A pressure indicator 24, an extra filter 25, an exhaust muffler 26 and a flow indicator 27 may be provided.
