Abstract

1303870 Measuring fluid flow; valves J B RATELBAND 4 May 1970 [5 May 1969] 21243/70 Heading F2V [Also in Division G1] In a fluid flow volume measuring apparatus having at least two motors 8, 9 having partly overlapping measuring ranges a pivotally mounted flap valve 3 at the inlet end of the apparatus is apertured at 5 and connected by a flexible pipe 4 to the inlet end 7 of the smaller range meter 8 and the arrangement is such that when the volume flow is greater than maximum flow measured by the meter 8 the flap valve 2 is pivoted to the open position by the fluid flow to bend and close the flexible pipe 4 and to permit the fluid to flow through the larger range meter 9.
