Abstract

152,386. Frankis, E. E. June 13, 1919. Wireless telegraphy. - In a wireless receiving system arranged to reduce or completely reject undesired waves, even of a frequency approximating closely to that of the desired signals, the aerial A is provided with two parallel earth connexions. One connexion has in it a variable condenser C and a switch B, and the other includes two inductances E and D, to one of which D is coupled a receiving circuit F, while to the other E is coupled an oscillatory circuit consisting of an inductance G, condenser H, and switch I. If two waves of approximately equal length are incident upon the aerial, the switches I, B are opened and the aerial tuned in the usual way to one of the waves. Both switches are then closed and the capacity H of the oscillatory circuit is adjusted in conjunction with the condenser C until the desired signals are audible and the undesired signals are eliminated.
