Abstract

1523201 Band clamps SMITH & JOHNSON (KEIGHLEY) Ltd 3 Feb 1976 04082/76 Heading E2B A band clamp has a strap 10 having a trough shaped section apart from extensions 10A, 10B at end regions 12 which extensions are flat and are bent back and secured to the remainder of the strap 10 to thereby form loops 20, 22 for the receipt of split sleeves 16, 18 of a tensioning means. A T- headed tensioning bolt 24 has its head located in sleeve 16 and passes through a trunnion 26 formed integrally with sleeve 18 and has a nut assembly 28 by which the clamp can be tensioned. The strap 10 may be a one piece metallic unit with extensions 10A, 10B spot welded to the remainder of the strap, although it may be of plastics material.
