[Also in Division F2] The abutting ends of asbestos pipes 12 and 13 are joined by a sleeve 1 formed by a flat rectangular flexible sheet of galvanised mild steel bent into cylindrical form with its ends overlapping and one or more toggle fastenings 4 holding the ends together, each or the toggle fastening comprising a lever 9 hinged by a pin 10 to a base member 8 which is spot welded to one end of the sheet and a U-shaped wire strap 5 having its free ends journalled at 11 in the lever and its base detachably connected to a member 6 spot-welded to the other end of the sheet, the legs of the wire strap each being formed with a circular loop 14 to increase the resiliency of the strap. The member 6 is provided with a plurality of teeth 7 to permit circumferential adjustment. A compressible layer of asbestos tape may be attached to the inner surface of the sleeve.
