Abstract

A hose connection for connecting two lengths of a mine hose 1, 3 together, in which a metal substantially undeformable ring 2 is located in the hem of one hose 1, the end of the other hose 3 being arranged to fit over the ring 2. A clamping ring 4, having a very resilient centre section 5 and marginal reinforcements 6, 6', 6'' formed by strips of plastics or wire, is clamped around the hoses 1, 3 so that the reinforcements are located on both sides of the metal ring 2. A tightening device 12 is provided to tighten the ring 4. In another form, the reinforcements are of wire having loops 13 engageable with a screw-threaded tightening device 14-18. <IMAGE>
