Abstract

1518970 Microwave ovens MICRO-TRONICS Inc 24 Dec 1975 52794/75 Heading H5H A beam stirrer in a microwave oven is mounted eccentrically about its rotating shaft at the opening of a waveguide. Cylindrical stirrer 30 is affixed to shaft 26 by a tab 4 that is bent to give a suitable angle (e.g. 5-10 degrees) between an axis of the stirrer and the supporting, rotating shaft. The length of the cylinder "h" is approximately a quarter wavelength, e.g. 0À7 inches. The shape need not be circular; square, elliptical, rectangular shapes are mentioned, "other" shapes are possible, including "segmented". The flat disc stirrer (4) could be made of dielectric material and could be an "open" ring.
