Abstract

1478495 Microwave oven PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd 14 Aug 1974 [17 Aug 1973] 35771/74 Heading H5H A magnetron 17 is coupled to a microwave oven by means of a waveguide 20 of increasing width a short-circuited at its wider end 23, where it is coupled to the oven by a number of coupling apertures, e.g. apertures 24, 25. As shown, the waveguide overlies the upper wall 13 of the oven. At its narrow end the waveguide 20 is coupled to a standard waveguide feeder 19 co-planar with the waveguide 20 or (as shown) at right-angles thereto. The apertures 24, 25 may be asymmetrically arranged with respect to the axis of the waveguide. Each aperture may contain a mode stirrer with four oblique blades. One of these may be stationary and the other may rotate.
