151,804. Knowles, H. V. Aug. 26, 1919. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Weather-screens.-A wind-screen for use on motor-cycles, of the kind carried by the machine frame, is mounted on a standard 1, 2, which is telescopically adjustable in height and at its upper end carries the screen 9 which is adjustable about an horizontal pivot. The lower end of the standard is hinged to a clip 4 on a fixed part of the cycle frame such as the top bar. The glass screen 9 may be riveted directly to a grooved bracket 10, with a rubber or other vibrationabsorbing packing between the bracket and the glass; or the screen may have a wooden or other U-shaped frame 12 and be carried by the bracket 10 or by a U-shaped bracket hinged by a central lug to the forked upper end of the standard. As shown, the hinges consist of sets of disks 8 adapted to be clamped together by a wing-nut on the hinge-pin; or each part may have a single disk-shaped projection, the opposed faces of these projections being serrated. The screens may have adjustable hinged side flaps as indicated at 11. The tube 1 may be stayed to the top bar of the frame.
