1517619 Reference electrode in anodic protection system J Y NIKHAENKO B A GRU and V S KUZUB 2 Dec 1976 50321/76 Heading C7E A reference electrode for an anodic protection system of a vessel holding an electroless Ni bath comprises a metal case 4 in contact with the vessel through which runs a rod 2 connected by wire 7 to a potential regulator (not shown), the rod being separated from the case by an insulated holder 3, e.g. of PTFE, the exposed portion 5 of the rod (which is preferably of Ni) 2 being coated with Ni-P. The case 4 further includes an electrically insulating lining 6. The Ni-P coating is formed in a separate vessel using plating solution taken from the bath to be subsequently protected, the electrode then being mounted in the vessel.
