Abstract

CONSTITUTION: In a plating chamber 6 constituted of a conductive hollow cylindrical anode 2 consisting of Cu and a Cu-Al alloy and an end member 4, a material 18 to be plated is gripped with a holder 19 made of an electrical insulation material and a cathode holder 20 made of a conductive material, and a plating soln. is circulated from a tank 11 through an inflow passage 9, the chamber 6 and an outflow passage 10 by a pump 12, and electricity is conducted to the anode 2 and the cathode holder 20, whereby the material 18 is plated. In this case, a cylindrical body 14 and a protecting end plate 17 made of a platinum group metal of a high m.p. and high corrosion resistance are mounted to the inside surface and both end faces of the electrode 2 constituting the anode. The corrosion of the anode metallic body 2 by the plating soln. having strong corrosiveness is protected by these platinum group metals, and the long-term use of the plating device is made possible.
