Cabl.e and wire terminals; needle point couplings.-In a terminal electric connexion involving a pair of relatively movable arms a adapted to engage a terminal stem of a sparking-plug or the like c and capable of operation by an axially movable sleeve d, the sleeve is adapted to be moved towards the terminal engaging parts and the arms to free the coupling and vice versa. The arms a may be formed of wire with one or two loops or eyes a<1>, a<2> upon the extremities arranged in the plane of the arms, Fig. 2, or transverse thereto, Fig. 4, or one arm may be plain. The loops may of triangular or angular formation so that the terminal stem is gripped in the angle of the loops, Fig. 2. The clip may be formed of a thin strip of sheet metal with perforated eyes. The sleeve d may be engaged with the clip by a collar d' in a variety of ways and may simply slide thereon or screw upon a collar engaging the clip. The arrangement may provide for increasing the contact pressure by a further axial movement of the sleeve. The connexion of the conducting lead b may be made by twisting it about a loop at the apex of the U or V formed by the arms, by means of a metal block. Fig. 2, attached to the arms into which the lead is entered and clamped by a screw, or by means of a screwed pointed tang formed by twisting the wire of the arms together, this tang being screwed into the core of the conductor. A protector, Fig. 6, may be used with the connexion, a squared end on the sleeve d engaging a sauared hole in a radially projecting part g<2>. The protector g has an opening containing a centrally perforated rubber disk retained by an annulus g<1> for example.
