Channels in pistons and piston-rods. - In forced feed lubrication for an internal-combustion engine, the oil is led to a stuffing box 8 in which orifices are provided to feed oil through an opening 40 to the hollow piston rod 6. The oil passes to the cylinder through transverse passages 41 in the piston 5, and also through the end of the piston rod and through the small-end of the connecting-rod to the gudgeon 43.
