Engines with two or more cylinders working on one crank.-In singleacting engines in which several pistons are connected to one crank, the connecting-rods a are flanged at both ends, and the flange d is held against a cylindrical boss c on the piston b by lateral pins f, which are held in place by the packing-rings h, and the flanges n are held against the crankpin by rings m on the crank webs. The rings m have an opening at q for the insertion of the flanges n, which are retained by pins p, and the pins are secured by a screw bolt t which passes through the crank pin and engages the heads r of both pins; they may be further secured by setscrews engaging the opposite sides of the heads. A split bush w surrounds the crank-pin k.
