Connecting-rods.-Relates to methods of securing the brasses and piston parts in an internalcombustion engine piston of aluminium or aluminium alloy which provide an uninterrupted tearing-surface for a gudgeon pin on the end of the connecting-rod, as described in Specification 17307/15. In the arrangement shown in Pig. 1, the brasses B, B<1> are secured by bolts C, the nuts c of which are introduced into the space a<2> above the web a through an aperture a<1>. Alternatively, the bolts may be formed with T-heads which are inserted through T-slots in the web a. In the two-part piston shown in Fig. 8, the parts A<1>, A<2>may be secured together by T- headed bolts, or the securing-bolts C<1> may be screwed into nuts c introduced through apertures a' in the web a. Alternatively, the parts of the piston are secured bv bolts C<2>, Fig. 9, which pass through the side walls of the piston and screw into nuts c<4> introduced through recesses a<8>. In order to prevent turning, the nuts are formed with flat surfaces engaging the recesses. Liners may be placed between the brasses or piston parts in order to permit adjustment for wear.
