Abstract
1511250 Hinged closure INSULEX Ltd 8 Oct 1975 [14 Nov 1974] 49384/74 Heading B8T A vessel, e.g. an insulated jug, has an aperture 4 closable by a closure 10 on a member 8 hingedly connected to the vessel, the vessel and member having projections 11, 13 of limited peripheral extent which cooperate when the closure 10 is in the closing position, to resist movement of the closure from the closing position. The member 8 is in the form of an arm pivoted about axis 9 on a U- shaped section handle 5. One projection 11 is provided on the handle and the other projection 13 being provided on the arm 8. The projections 11, 13 have bevelled surfaces 12, 14 which contact and provide the necessary frictional forces to resist the movement. The vessel preferably comprises inner and outer nested containers 1, 2 and the vessel, member and handle are preferably made of plastics material. A lug 15 may also be provided on the arm 8, pressure on the lug 15 pivotting the closure 10 from the closing position.
