Abstract

The heat-insulated box with guarantee-seal envelope is particularly for use in self-service food stores. It comprises two identical half-boxes (2, 2') symmetrically assembled and of thermally-insulating material, with a thin cover which can be torn off by hand enclosing one of them. Two or more contiguous edge portions (3, 4, 5) are symmetrically opposite those in the other half. When empty the half-boxes can be stacked nested, and they are assembled by fitting together face to face. The half-boxes can be of rectangular truncated pyramidal section, the top being closed by a flat base, while there is a cushion round the bottom opening, extended by a short skirt on two diagonally opposite quarters of the periphery.
