Abstract

1296541 Pedal bins ADDIS Ltd 21 July 1970 [7 Aug 1969] 39626/69 Heading A4A A pedal bin comprises an outer casing 1 with a hinged lid 2, an inner container 6 with a turned over rim 7 engaging the tap 5 of the outer casing, and a pedal member 8 substantially V-shaped in cross-section having one arm 9 inside the casing 1 and another arm 10, carrying a pedal 14, outside the casing 1 so that depression of the pedal 14 causes the arm 9 to contact the bottom of the container 6 which pivots about the top edge 5 of the casing and forces the lid 2 to an open position. The lid 2 carries ribs 15 which engage with the rim 7 of the container 6, the ribs being: so shaped as to give large opening movement to the lid for small movement of the container and pedal. The bin is preferably made of plastics.
