A dispensing closure for a container for salt has a moulded plastic body member 10 with a groove 13a to receive the edge 12a of the container wall around the orifice therein, an inwardly directed bead 17 and a foraminous wall 19 across the inner end of the member, a lid 14 having a rib 16 to engage under bead 17 being hinged to the member 10 by hinges 15.
