Abstract

The base, cover and connecting hinges are moulded in one piece. The material used is polypropylene. Three short hinges are normally used and these are spaced equally along the length of the box. The cover is held closed by rebates in the corners of the lid snapping over similarly placed projections in the front sides of the base of the box. The hinges project a minimum distance to allow the use of the box in automatic filling machines. The cover and base have cooperating inner and outer shoulders respectively, so that the box presents uniform outer surfaces.
