Abstract

1508311 Fixing toner images AGFAGEVAERT 7 May 1975 [21 May 1974] 22597/74 Heading B6C Toner particles are imagewise deposited on a thermo-adhesive fixing layer which is permanently adhered to a sheet or web support material, and the material is heated to a temperature sufficiently high to soften the thermo-adhesive layer but below that at which permanent deformation of the support occurs. The support material is a thermoplastic resin whose glass transition temperature (Tg) is higher than that of the composition of the thermo-adhesive layer, and the toner particles comprise at least 10% by weight of a polymer or polymer composition whose Tg is at least 10‹C. higher than that of the thermoadhesive composition. The manufacture and composition of suitable coated support materials are disclosed (see Divisions B1-B2).
