Abstract

PURPOSE:To manufacture a clear recording sheet with a high picture density and excellent in the resolution, by a method wherein an aqueous composition containing an inorganic pigment, a resin pigment and a specific water-soluble adhesive is applied on the surface of a supporting body and pressed onto a hot calender after dried. CONSTITUTION:100pts.wt. inorganic pigment (A) (e.g. TiO2) is blended with 2pts.wt. or more (solid content) resin pigment (B) with a particle size of 0.02- 0.8mu obtained by emulsion polymerization of an organic material (e.g., styrene) and 2-50pts.wt. water-soluble polymer adhesive (C) made of a polymer latex with a glass transition temperature of 40 deg.C or higher (e.g., styrene-butadiene copolymer latex wherein the styrene block consists of 8-40 mers of styrene) to obtain an aqueous composition. Then, said aqueous composition is applied on a supporting body and dried to form a coating layer, which is pressed onto a hot calender with a temperature range from that 20 deg.C lower than the glass transition temperature of component C to that 40 deg.C higher than it for finishing.
