Abstract

An imaging procedure comprising the steps of: (a) forming an electrostatic latent image on a respective fixing surface; (b) developing said latent image by carrying an electrostatic developing mixture within the influence of said latent image, said developing mixture comprising particles, and said particles including: (1) finely divided electroscopic printing powder material, (2) a minimal proportion based in the weight of said printing powder of a finely divided, friction reducing solid material, which has a hardness lower than that of said printing powder material and superior friction reducing characteristics than said printing powder material, possessing said material friction reducing a greater tendency than said printing powder material to form a thin, sticky film deposit on a surface when applied from a mixture of such materials with shear force, and (3) a minimal proportion based on the weight of said powder material printing an abrasive material, non-blottable and finely divided, of a hardness greater than that of said friction reducing material and said impression powder material; c) removing at least a portion of at least any residual developed image from said respective fixing surface by a force that causes the printing powder, friction reducing material and abrasive material of said developer mixture to be rubbed through at least a portion of said image fixing surface; and (d) repeat the process sequence at least once more.
